The Colloid Society is one of Germany's most established scientific associations. Founded in Leipzig in 1922, it has been multidisciplinary from its inception and has maintained a strong focus on the industrial application of colloids. Today, the society boasts several hundred scientists from diverse fields such as physics, chemistry, pharmacy, and food process engineering. Its mission is to promote colloid and interface research across disciplines.
A key priority of the Colloid Society is the support and advancement of young researchers, exemplified by initiatives such as the Zsigmondy Colloquium. Especially master students, PhD students and Postdocs are invited to present and discuss their work through oral presentations or posters. Our goal is to foster communication between researchers from universities and other research institutions and industry.
